If you are in the market for an outdoor wood furnace, your options may seem endless. There are many different brands and models to choose from. When making this large of an investment, it’s important to know the product and the company you are investing in. Doing your research can be a daunting task, however knowing what questions to ask will help you gain the knowledge you need to make the right decision.
As one of the industry’s leading outdoor wood furnaces, Crown Royal Stoves are the number one choice for many consumers. Here are just some of the reasons why a Crown Royal Stove might be the best option for you.
Made in the USA
All Crown Royal Stoves are made in International Falls, MN. Coined the “Icebox of the Nation”, International Falls experiences record low temperatures during the winter, allowing us to rigorously test the design and efficiency of each stove.
Manufactured with domestic 409 stainless steel
Domestic 409 stainless steel is used to manufacture each stove. All of the steel comes from mills in the United States. Many competitors use imported stainless steel with lower quality control standards. Imported steel can result in varying wall thickness, heavy inclusions from rolling, lamination and inconsistent annealing.
Why 409 Stainless Steel?
In the outdoor wood furnace application, 409 Stainless Steel is superior to all other stainless and mild steels. The 11% chromium content of 409 stainless steel makes it much more resistant to corrosion than any mild steels. This also makes it more heat tolerant than a number of steels. Multiple models to choose from
Crown Royal Stoves have five series to choose from:
Shaker Grate Series – Built with a traditional round design firebox, this model includes shaker grates and a removable ash pan for easy maintenance.
Multi Pass Series – Along with a shaker grate system and removable ash pans, the Multi Pass stoves are manufactured with a triple pass heat exchanger for higher efficiencies.
Pristine Series – With the use of a down draft gasification process, the Pristine Series surpasses the strictest laws.
Indoor Shaker Grate Series – Using the same round firebox design and shaker grate system, the indoor series can be installed inside a garage or barn, other than a primary residence.
Biomass Series - Burn multiple fuel types like wood chips, wood pellets, corn, coal etc. in an automated fed system.

They have the “original” Shaker Grate System, easy ash removal, pull out ash pan, easy access rear door for seamless installation and maintenance, large firebox door for easy loading of fuel, and heat transfer tubes for more square feet of heating capacity. A turbo draft system equipped with a primary and secondary blower provides multiple advantages such as; burns secondary gases and produces a hotter fire, provides better heat transfer, higher efficiencies, burns less wood, faster heat recovery, less ashes and low smoke emissions.
