My name is Bill and I live in Northern Michigan. We live in the outside area where it is 10 degrees colder than towns close to us. We have 2 wood stoves 1 in the house, which is 1500 SQ ft. and 1 in a pole barn that is 24 X 40 with a 10′ ceiling. Both stoves were 73% energy efficient. I have burned wood all of my life. After hearing wood boilers were more energy efficient I started checking into them. After reviewing 4 different brands in our area, I decided on Crown Royal 7200E. I talked to a dealer, Larry Street who was very informative. He helped me make my decision. The stove is well constructed with 409 titanium stainless steel fire box, water level indicator, easy maintenance, fire brick refractory, digital control panels, and less emissions. In the Spring and Fall it re-fires automatically. Easy to install, I did it myself. Less saw cuts going from 16″ wood to 22″. No need to start fires every day in my pole barn. Less ash to clean out, less smoke from stack. With the old wood stove in the pole barn, I would only have a fire during the day but now my pole barn is heated 24 hours. I am now heating domestic hot water previously heated with electric. Consistent heat all the time, no mess in house from wood ashes and debris.
After two winters I thought I should write a review.
I love the stove. I burned 15 cord the first year and 12 cord the second year which was a colder winter.
I have contacted Crown Royal twice. Once with a technical question and spoke to Ryan who was super. Once regarding Insurance, with a question regarding distance from the stove to the house. Crown Royal called our insurance company and answered all of the questions to their satisfaction. Great customer support.
