Can the Bio 200 replace an existing Outdoor Wood Boiler?
Yes, the Bio 200 can replace an existing Outdoor Boiler. The Bio 200 can be set on a pad in multiple orientations with the added floor knock-outs on the sides and rear of the unit.
How long can I burn a Bio 200 before I need to clean it?
It is recommended to clean the ashes out of the Bio 200 weekly. Cleaning the Heat exchange tubes greatly increases the efficiency of the Bio 200. The Bio 200 will come with an assortment of cleaning tools.
Do I have to have glycol or anti-freeze in the boiler?
No, Crown Royal Stoves does not require the use of glycol in their boilers. If Glycol is used, the recommended ratio is 35-40% of glycol to water. This must be a propylene glycol specifically formulated for heating applications. Crown Royal stoves requires the use of "Control" rust inhibitor. This can be purchased from a Crown Royal Stoves Dealer.
Can I use the same underground PEX lines as my existing outdoor unit?
Yes, however it is highly recommended to replace old lines with new to ensure maximum efficiency and avoid cool return temperatures.
Can the Bio 200 work with an existing heating system?
The Bio 200 can be used with just about any existing heating system such as: forced air systems, hydronic sytems, radiant infloor & baseboard. The Bio 200 can also be used to heat domestic hot water.
How long can the Bio 200 run before needing to be refilled.
Depending on fuel quality and heating load, with the hopper and augers full of fuel, you can go days to weeks before needing to refill the fuel hopper.
What kind of wood pellets can I use in the Bio 200?
Use only top-quality, residential grade A wood pellets for best performance. Top quality wood pellets have a moisture content under 10%. The Bio 200 can burn both soft & hardwood pellets.
Why should I use only top-quality grade A wood pellets in the Bio 200?
Grade A wood pellets have a lower moisture content, produce less Ash meaning less cleaning. Grade A wood pellets also have a higher energy density, reducing the amount of wood pellets needed & less refueling.
Will adjustments be needed to any control settings on the Bio 200?
The Bio 200 comes with a preset temperature set point of 180 Degrees F with a 10 degree temperature differential meaning no adjustments are needed. The Bio 200 features a self-modulating draft inducer and augers automatically adjust both airflow and pellet feed rates. If poor quality pellets are used, manual adjustments on the controller may need to be made to the feed rate and fan speed.
Do I have to build a fire to start the Bio 200?
No, the Bio 200 has an automated ignition system provides rapid, ultra-reliable fire startups without the need for manual lighting.
